We can all agree; business owners have a lot on their plate. Aside from expanding the business and increasing revenue, they also have to worry about technology.

Why? Because technology is constantly evolving — products are continuously going in an out of the market. So, as technology continues to shift, business owners need to change with it.

By adopting to change and implementing new technology, business owners — regardless of their size — can stay relevant in a market that’s saturated with competition. Competitive advantages aside, technology also helps businesses owners increase the efficiency and productivity of their operations.

And, speaking of efficiency and productivity, one company that has (and continues to) help businesses excel is Microsoft. Since its inception in 1975, the tech giant has put over a billion PCs in many homes and businesses around the world. In fact, many of the world’s businesses run on a Microsoft-based IT infrastructure.

Although Microsoft has a ton of products we can talk about, today, for Tech Tip Tuesday, we’ll focus on some key features and benefits of Office 365 Cloud.

Top Features & Benefits Office 365 Cloud

One of the biggest advantages of Office 365 is that it’s customizable. Although there are several different business plans available with different programs and features, Office 365 is designed with you in mind. Therefore, if none of the existing plans work for your business, you can mix and match individual services to create a custom plan. That way, you never have to pay for more than what you need.

As we mentioned before, many of the world’s businesses run on a Microsoft-based IT infrastructure, so many offices around the world use Microsoft Office apps like Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, and OneNote. As a result, most everything is in MS format. So, using Office 365 ensures that you never have to worry about converting a document. Also worth noting, compared to other apps, Office 365 apps have more features, so you can do a lot more, which makes work easier.

Real-Time Collaboration

Because Office 365 is a cloud-based system, once you have internet, you can access your data anywhere at any time. Not just you, your employees will also have access to relevant data. So, if working in teams is part of your company, projects will not be hindered by location. Additionally, everyone who needs to contribute to or edit a document (or spreadsheet or presentation, etc.) can do so in real-time.

Office 365 comes with built-in security features. Along with Multi-factor Authentication for all user passwords, Office 365 security features include:

  • Encrypted email
  • Data Loss Prevention
  • Mobile Device Management
  • Advanced Threat Analytics (ATA)

Note, however, that these aren’t the only security features available in Office 365.
